Attire
2022/2023 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The following students have successfully completed the Cecchetti exam between December 2022- May 2023.
Classroom Attire
Attire for class is a black leotard and pink tights for girls and a white fitted T-shirt and black stretch pants for boys.
Hair
Please wear hair pulled away from face and into a bun.
Ballet Shoes
Shoes for ballet class are pink ballet slippers with strings tucked inside for girls and black ballet shoes for boys.
Tap shoes
Black tap shoes with velcro strapes or buckles can be worn for tap combo classes ages 3&4-7&8. The 8&9 y.o. tap classes and older wear black lace-up tap shoes.
Jazz Shoes
Tan jazz shoes can be worn for jazz, lyrical and musical theatre class.
We recommend the following attire to help dancers feel prepared, confident and comfortable:
Girls
- Ballet & Tap Combo (ages 3–8/9): Black leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes, black buckle/velcro tap shoes
- Jazz & Acro Combo (ages 5–8): Black leotard, pink convertible tights, tan jazz shoes for jazz, barefoot for acro
- Ballet/Pointe Level 1+ & Cecchetti Grades 1–5: Black leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes; pointe shoes for pointe class.
- Tap Level 1+: Black Leotard, pink convertible tights, Black lace-up tap shoes
- Jazz & Lyrical Level 1+: Black leotard, pink convertible tights, tan slip-on jazz shoes or pink ballet shoes (turners are optional)
- Acro Level 1+: Leotard and convertible tights, barefoot
- Hip Hop: Clean sneakers- any style (“clean” meaning brand new and never ever worn outside!), or bare feet/jazz shoes; leotard/tights and/or t-shirt, shorts, and/or sweats worn over top.
Boys
- Clothing: White fitted t-shirt, black stretchy pants
- Ballet: Black ballet shoes
- Tap: Black buckle/velcro/lace-up tap shoes
- Jazz/Lyrical: Black or Tan jazz shoes and/or Turners
- Acro: Barefoot
- Hip Hop: Clean sneakers- any style (“clean” meaning brand new and never ever worn outside!), or bare feet/jazz shoes
Supplies can be purchased at Discount Dance, Dance Supplies Etc., or Liesl Dancewear
Give & Take Bin in the lobby we offer a free swap bin for gently used dance items (sizes and options vary). Please explore and take and use anything that fits!
Please label all belongings with your dancer’s name/initials and make sure shoes, clothes, jackets, and water bottles go home with you at the end of every class.
NEED DANCE SUPPLIES?
Tights can be purchased at the studio for $12. For shoes, leotards, and accessories we suggest one of the following!
